Hello all,
Elo Linux Multiple Touchscreen ST USB Driver package contains userspace Linux drivers designed for Linux. And control panel utilities for Elo touchmonitors. This driver requires the. IntelliTouch(R) 2701, 2700, 2600, 2500U. E.) Motif 3.0 (libXm.so.3) library is required to use the Graphic User Interface.
I was wondering if there was a list of touchscreens that are known to be supported by utouch-frame / mtview. I've tried out all touchscreens I could get my hands on, with widely varying levels of success. What I need is not actually support for X/Compiz, but support by the utouch-frame library (which for me thus far was identical with 'works with mtview').
Alternatively, I'd be happy about hints on the issues described below (especially 3. or 4.)
Touchscreens tested:
1. 3M M2256PW. Works great after simply installing utouch libs etc. and plugging in device, mtview shows traces. Unfortunately, this is the only one so far, and it's quite pricey.
2. some very old NEC screen -- listed by lsinput, mtview complains 'error: unsupported device'. (I don't currently have the device here any more.)
3. Acer T232HL -- this doesn't even get listed by lsinput. Unsure what to do about it.
4. an ELO touchscreen, identified as follows:
lsinput: 'Elo MultiTouch(MT) Device Input ' lsusb: Bus 006 Device 012: ID 04e7:0020 Elo TouchSystems Touchscreen Interface (2700) xinput: Elo MultiTouch(MT) Device Input Module id=11 [slave pointer (2)] Elo TouchSystems, Inc. Elo TouchSystems 2700 IntelliTouch(r) USB Touchmonitor Interface id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
With this last screen, mtview complained 'error: unsupported device' initially. I then installed the ELO drivers
(http://www.elotouch.com/Support/Downloads/Driver/DriverDownload/Default.aspx), and now mtview runs without complaining (and X responds to touch), however it doesn't show any traces; it seems that X is capturing the events first. When disabling the input for X via xinput set-prop 11 'Device Enabled' 0 (see http://askubuntu.com/questions/134229/how-can-i-use-multitouch-apps-in-ubuntu-12-04) neither X nor mtview respond to touch. evtest doesn't show events either.
My system: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS; uname -r: 3.2.0-65-generic;
$ dpkg -l | grep '^ii' | grep utouch:
ii libutouch-evemu-dev 1.0.9-0ubuntu1 ii libutouch-evemu1 1.0.9-0ubuntu1 ii libutouch-frame-dev 2.2.3-0ubuntu1 ii libutouch-frame1 2.2.3-0ubuntu1 ii libutouch-grail1 3.0.5-0ubuntu1
$ dpkg -l | grep '^ii' | grep mtview
ii mtview 1.1.7-0ubuntu1
Any hints appreciated. Again, for me, either getting screens 3 or 4 to run OR knowing for sure which devices will work without issues would likely be fine.
Thanks!
